Along with our name change, we are accelerating our fiber internet construction throughout Newport and Priest River.

That means in the coming months fiber internet will be available to most homes and businesses in the area.

For customers in Newport or Priest River currently on a coax connection, you will have the opportunity to upgrade to a comparable fiber internet plan at no cost – or you can choose an even faster plan if you'd like. We will contact you once fiber is available at your address to schedule your upgrade.

Today, we’re proud to have nearly 5,000 homes and businesses either connected to fiber or coming online this year. As part of this continued evolution, MiFiber is now becoming Core Fiber. FAQ

Will my internet plan change?

No, your internet plan will stay the same. No action is needed from your end.

Will my service be interrupted?

No, your internet service will continue working without interruption.

How will I access my account?

You can still access your account through the MiFiber billing portal. After we transition to the Core Fiber brand, the portal URL will change but your login will remain the same and we’ll forward the outgoing portal to the new one in case you have it bookmarked.

Will my billing date, billing method, or account number change?

No. All of your billing info, dates, and account information will stay the same.

Was MiFiber sold?

MiFiber joined Core Fiber Partners, a group of regional internet providers, in 2022 to fund our fiber internet construction throughout Newport and Priest River. This year (2026) we and our partners decided to join forces under one brand – Core Fiber.

Is MiFiber still local?

Yes! Our Newport office is still open and our local staff is still here – that will not change. We are, however, expanding and now have the opportunity to serve more communities outside of town.

Will my router and other WiFi equipment still work?

Absolutely! Everything powering your home WiFi today will continue working normally.
